Using this stitch for a dishcloth is a perfect way to add character to an everyday piece. Crochet this dishcloth in only a few hours or less and add it to your linen supplies for a rustic, handmade touch! And don’t be surprised when your friends want a few as well.

Tip: always use yarn made from natural fibers, specifically cotton and linen, for kitchen linens so that they won’t pill with constant use!

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 9” (23 cm) square

Materials: Medium weight (cotton) yarn (approximately 90 yards) Crochet hook I (5.50 mm)

Gauge:
7 knsc = 2’’
10 rows = 2’’
Gauge Swatch: 2’’w x 2’’h (5 cm x 5 cm) ch 8.
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 7 sc
Row 2 – 10: ch 1, turn, knsc in each st across: 7 sc
Finish off.

Crochet Pattern: Knit Stitch Dishcloth
Row 1: ch 26, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 25 sc
Row 2 – 34: ch 1, turn, knsc in each st across: 25 knsc
Do not finish off, continue with border.

Border
Sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner. For another 3 rounds, knsc evenly around, working 3 knsc in each corner. Finish off.
