Crochet Pattern: Jingle Bell Bracelet

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on July 17th, 2016 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment
Let’s kick off Christmas in July with a festive bracelet! This bracelet is super quick to crochet and uses a very small amount of yarn. Choose your favorite colored yarn (doesn’t have to be Christmas related) and a bunch of bells to make this noisy bracelet. The length of the bracelet can easily be adjusted if needed.
If you’ve crocheted with beads in the past, this pattern will be a breeze to crochet. If this is your first time crocheting with beads, please check out the How to Crochet: Chain with Bead tutorial before working this pattern. The bells are used in the same manner as beads.

Crochet Pattern: Animal Soap Savers

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on July 15th, 2016 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Make bath time fun for children by crocheting these cute animal soap savers. Choose from the bear, elephant or lion, or crochet them all! Insert a bar of soap and you’re ready to shower! The soap saver will help lather the soap and replace the need for washcloths. Not only are they cute, but they also create grip on the soap making it less slippery. Soap savers are also great for using up small pieces of soap so there’s no waste. When bath time is done, be sure to hang the soap saver to dry using the drawstring loop.

Crochet Pattern: Ultimate Granny Square Blanket

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on July 3rd, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 4 Comments

Granny square blankets are classics in the crochet world that often become family heirlooms. Here is a twist on the classic granny square blanket that will test your crochet skills. This pattern uses 3 different sized granny squares and a granny bordering technique. The finished size of the blanket in the sample photo is a throw, which is great for snuggling up with on the sofa while reading a book or watching television. You can easily adjust the size if you wish by adding more rows or columns of squares, or even adjusting the size of the borders.

It’s My Birthday, Let’s Celebrate!

Posted in Fun Ramblings, News on July 1st, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 20 Comments

Yup, that’s right! I’m getting older as I type this. But with age, comes another year well lived and lots of crochet projects checked off the to-do list. Although I do not have any extravagant plans, and will probably go about my day as usual, I think this year I’ll celebrate by wearing my birthday cake hat around the house. It will give me much joy to watch my dogs tilt their heads at me and give me goofy looks. My cats may even try and swat at the candles. Best of all, it will remind my family that it’s my birthday and they have to make dinner and clean the dishes instead of me!

Crochet Pattern: Sporty Pacifier Holders

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on June 25th, 2016 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Pacifier holders are great if you’re always loosing your pacifiers. The end of the pacifier holder that is appliqued with a sport ball is clipped to the baby’s clothing while the other end dangles with a pacifier. These holders can also be used for small toys, not just pacifiers! Pacifiers and toys can easily be removed from the holder so that they can be washed. The pattern includes the pacifier holder pattern that you can crochet in an assortment of colors, and the 4 sport ball appliques: baseball, basketball, football, and soccer ball.

Crochet Pattern: Airplane with Runway Scarf

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on June 19th, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 2 Comments

Crochet an airplane for the aviation enthusiast and a runway inspired scarf to match! Image your child zoom around in the air with his or her new airplane and land it on the runway. The scarf is designed to be child sized, but can be easily lengthened for adults by adding more rows. The airplane is crocheted amigurumi style, seamlessly in the round like a spiral. My favorite technique is used to created smooth, neat color changes.
