Hello again everyone! It’s so good to be back with Crochet Spot. I wanted to start out with an idea I’ve been nurturing for a long time — a mini pillow that reminds you of Valentine’s candy! This pillow is small and perfect for that extra special Valentine’s touch. Use the soft candy-like pastels as I did or choose your own, personalized palette. The pillow is made with small, square motifs crocheted in the round and joined together for the front and back. The hearts are made separate and then attached afterward. It’s a pattern you can’t say no to!

Here is a quick and simple mixed media necklaces that uses crochet circles and a metal chain. The circles are crocheted seamlessly in the round. They are easy to crochet, a beginner can do it! The necklace is then assembled using jump rings and any chain of your choice. Feel free to mix up the color of the circles and the lengths of the chains to create your own unique necklace.

Crochet Pattern: Blanket Stitch Baby Hat

Requested by a Crochet Spot reader, this hat pattern was designed to match the Blanket Stitch pattern. Crochet a blanket and a matching hat to create a wonderful gift set! The hat is crocheted in the round from the top down. It starts with double crochet stitches, then transitions to the blanket stitch pattern. The hat will fit most babies. If you are interested in other sizes, please let me know in the comments section and I can work on putting together more patterns.

Ever since I attended a craft party for the charity Sole Hope, I have been thinking about crafting with denim in new ways. During the party, we cut up old jeans into pieces to make shoes for children who need them. Thinking of old jeans as a textile, I began imagining painted denim canvases and tote bags. And a denim tote bag would look great with a crochet applique like this one on it!
